Budweiser, the popular beer brand, has forayed in the fashion industry with the launch of its street wear collection for India, Budxstreet. The line has several collaborators such as designer labels Huemn and NorBlack NorWhite, multi-brand sneaker store Veg Non Veg, artistic director Hanif Kureshi, and the online community radio station, Boxout.FM.
The collection is aimed at engaging the rising street culture in India which is given a push by the synergies in the ideals and beliefs of the brand and that of the collaborators. The collection is inspirational, distinct and exclusive, encompassing a range of unisex apparel and accessories such as hoodies, jackets, skirts, trousers, dresses, and shirts.
The beer brand came up with this idea of selling apparels to get around the stringent laws against alcohol advertising in India.
High-end labels have been playing a key role in giving street wear the couture treatment along with the rise in street culture community in India. It is an approachable segment as people relate to it when it comes to pricing.
The highlights of the collection include hoodies in bright prints in red, blue, white and black, pleated skirts, logo-ed sweatshirts and caps.
