Amazon comes up with its largest delivery station in India!

The e-commerce giant has announced the launch of its delivery station in Pimpri-Chinchwad in Pune, which will be the largest in the country.

The new station will enable Amazon to strengthen its last-mile delivery network and ensure faster deliveries across the city, ahead of the upcoming festival season.

Amazon is planning to further expand its delivery network in Maharashtra, taking it up to 200 owned and delivery service partner stations and over 3,000 ‘I Have Space’ partners.

Spread across 40,000 sq.ft. area, the new station will facilitate Amazon’s objective to penetrate deeper into the smaller towns of Maharashtra.

Going forward, it plans to expand to cities like Tuljapur in Osmanabad district, Lonar and Shegaon in Buldana, Igatpuri in Nashik, Sangameshwar in Ratnagiri, Kolad in Raigad and Shirala in Sangli.

The expansion will enable it to have a direct delivery presence in close to 900 pin codes of the state.

More on the above, Prakash Rochlani, Director, Last Mile Transportation, Amazon India said “In line with our vision of making e-commerce a part of everyday life, we have doubled our last-mile delivery network in the state besides opening a new large delivery station in the city.” He also added that this would help create thousands of job opportunities.

“We are excited that Amazon India has launched its largest delivery station in Maharashtra. We value the presence of companies like Amazon India in our state, making everyday life easier for people across Pune and the rest of Maharashtra. Additionally, this new infrastructure will provide skilling and employment opportunities for people and reiterate that the state continues to be a preferred choice for companies,” said Vinayak Dhakane, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Zone-2.
