The deadly pandemic has been directly impacting some Indian factories.
Recently, owing to the same, around 6 units in Baddi (Himachal Pradesh) were closed for around 3 weeks, and now more than 100 workers of a single home furnishing manufacturing unit have been confirmed COVID-19 positive at Hassan (Karnataka).
Deccan Chronicle has reported that 135 workers of Himatsingka Linens are suffering from COVID-19. Majority of these workers are women and most of them were living in a building within the factory premises.
Factory sources told Apparel Resources that factory is now closed.
Himatsingka Linens is one of the leading home furnishing companies of India, which supplies goods to many prestigious buyers across the globe. These workers were shifted to Covid care centres after a video clip highlighting the conditions inside the factory went viral.
